FAQ’s

Q: Where does Second Chance Church hold Sunday morning celebrations?

A:  We gather in one of the most unique buildings in all of Peoria.  Our building contains gigantic timbers, paver bricks, two bars, and some fascinating history.  For more on that, check out our page about the building. (coming soon)

3300 W Willow Knolls, Peoria, IL

When approaching from either direction on Willow Knolls, look for the sign on the South side of the road.  The sign will have the 3300 W Willow Knolls address, along with unused white space above and below our sign.  There is also a very noticeable ATM machine near the road with a green canopy.  Once you have turned into the parking lot, the church is the large building at the bottom of the parking lot.  Ample parking is available.

Q: When do your celebration services begin?

A:  We like to think that our celebration begins on Monday morning and culminates on Sunday morning at 10:00 am.  But we’d like to invite you to join us at 9:30 to enjoy a wonderful spread of breakfast foods and coffee before the 10:00 celebration.

Q: What should I expect when I come?

A:  We like to say “Expect the unexpected!”  In other words, we don’t believe in ruts or routine.  However, there are a few things that we want you to be able to expect EVERY time you come.

  1. You should expect to have fun!  God is good and we celebrate that.
  2. You should expect a casual environment!  Jesus wore robes.  So we figure jeans are just fine.
  3. You should expect great service.  We don’t just mean the preaching (although we think that’s pretty good, too).
  4. You should expect a different feel than “church”.  We sit in camp chairs with a few tables scattered around and enjoy coffee while we’re learning.  (Don’t you do that in the training room at work?)
  5. You should expect to feel valued.  You matter to God, so you matter to us.
  6. You should expect to be accepted for who you are.  All comers are welcome.
  7. You should expect to be inspired.  Why would you want to invest your time to be discouraged?  There’s plenty of that to go around during the week.
  8. You should expect to be challenged.  Growth = change.  No one can grow without change, and few people change without being challenged.
  9. You should expect to find partners and friends to help you in your life journey.  Everything is more fun when you’re part of a team.
  10. You should expect excellence in everything.  God spared nothing in giving the best He had for us.  We will give our best for you.

Q: What about my children?

A:  We know your children are of utmost importance to you and we know their care is important to you as well!  In our Nursery (infant – 2 yr. old), children will be cared for and allowed to play and learn about God right on their own level.  Preschoolers will have a blast as they learn more about how Jesus loves them, just as they are!  Elementary students will begin the morning with their parents, but will be dismissed (3rd grade and under) to their class after the music portion.  We also provide a “Quiet Room” so little ones and mom can retreat to a calm environment for feeding, changing, or other needs.
