Losing Blame and Pain for Forgiveness
There’s a popular commercial that presents a board meeting of a cable company that is losing business badly to a competitor. One of the “solutions” presented was to begin a “blame-storming” session.
For most of us, that’s our default position… blame someone else. For anything and everything that goes wrong, our hard-wired response is lash out at the “offending” party. Unfortunately, it doesn’t stop there. The blame game becomes a pain gain. As we begin to cast aspersions and heap guilt on another party, we begin to get caught by a growing weight of pain.
Wives are blaming husbands … husbands are blaming wives
Employers are blaming employees … employees are blaming employers
Parents are blaming children … children are blaming parents
One friend blames another friend … who blames another friend
And so it goes. And it is killing us.
Ultimately, it becomes a huge impediment in our lives. It even dramatically disrupts our walk with our God. In a year where we at Second Chance Church desire to go deeper, getting rid of this ugly weight is critical for us to become big losers… for the glory of God.
There’s a better way. Join us this Sunday at Second Chance to lose the pain and the blame and find our way to a spirit of forgiveness.
